Huguette ‘passes the torch’

Erik Bjorgan won an actively contested election at the end of two rallies held in Salmon Arm and Vernon in mid July, to become the federal Candidate of the local Green Party, replacing Huguette Allen who resigned last February.

Upon winning, Erik said, “I'm utterly humbled by the amount of support people have shown for this process and for me. With such support I'm convinced I'll be able to run a good and empowered campaign.”

Party members in the riding gathered in Salmon Arm and Vernon to vote for their choice from among 3 applicants for the position. The contest wrapped up in Vernon with the announcement of Mr Bjorgan, who now begins the process of accreditation by Elections Canada.
